Christmas Mocha - S

Merry Christmas, everyone! (I just love saying that!) :) I hope this post finds you a happy Trim Healthy Mama! If you're not right now, give me 10 minutes and I'll fix that! This recipe is sure to have your wallet singing your praises (not to mention your waistline!) and thanking you as you skip that pricey Starbucks trip. Does anyone else think $5 per sugary pound making drink is ridiculous?

Anyway, on to the recipe!

Christmas Mocha

12 oz. fresh hot coffee
Skinny Chocolate
Xylitol or sweetener of choice
Heavy cream

To start, you will need a 16 oz. mug. Make sure that it is clean, then place 1 or 2 large chunks of Skinny Chocolate in the bottom. Make fresh coffee, then pour 12 oz. of it over the Skinny Chocolate in the bottom of the mug. Add 3 - 4 Tbs. of heavy cream, (depending on how light or dark you want your mocha to be) and 2 tsp. xylitol. Stir around and top with whipped cream. Grab a veggie peeler and make chocolate shavings with slightly thawed Skinny Chocolate to garnish the top of the mocha. You can also add more chunks of Skinny Chocolate to top your mocha if you like. Now sit back and enjoy, ya hear?

Notes: If you plan on making this recipe several times a week or more to stay out of your local Starbucks, you can cut back the heavy cream to 2 Tbs. and substitute with 2 Tbs. unsweetened almond milk.

Now, on the off chance you are still reading this post, here is the story behind this simple recipe. My mama suffers from migraine headaches chronically, and after using some free mocha coupons - she discovered that McDonald's mochas help with her headaches. What does that say about the chemicals in them?! Anyway, some time after this we discovered Trim Healthy Mama and as you can imagine mochas are NOT on plan. So we started trying to create a mocha recipe that wouldn't spike her blood sugar for her to enjoy. This is the resulting recipe, I think she came up with the original idea but when I started making them for her, I tweaked it some.

I hope you enjoy your Christmas mocha!

Thank you for reading my ramblings and if you have any questions, please let me know!

Merry Christmas!
